When did SUP become more then just a hobby for you?
My introduction to SUP came at the beginning of 2008 , my ADDICTION to SUP began about 1 week later.

Why did you choose Starboard?
Initially I met Scotty & we discussed the concept of the wider theory & at first it seemed not correct from a surfers point of view, but made perfect sense from a users perspective. It was not long after this meeting I had the opportunity to travel to a remote location in Indonesia with Scotty ,Margareta & Ekolu Kalama & at this point in time the discussions I had previously had with Scotty began to make sense & the changes that I was literally witnessing before my eyes in the shapes & performance of the STARBOARD range pretty well cemented the next obvious step which was to jump on board & enjoy .

Tell us about your quiver? / Which board is your favorite?
I feel like the luckiest kid in the candy SUP store as my position with Starboard allows me to ride each board from the range & enjoy each of them when in their correct element. Throughout 2009 I have been involved in the SHORT SUP EVOLUTION & this has meant pushing the shorter boards a little harder & I have spent a lot of time on the 8'5"POCKET ROCKET QUAD, which if asked what I believe the perfect all round board would be I must honestly answer this one. I have enjoyed riding this on small days & then enjoy pushing it on large days & been surprised by the stoke it has delivered on each occasion & been even more happy to see the stoke it offers to people when they have the chance to try it against all they have been previously advised & realize it is an amazingly stable & surfable SUP with nice paddle benefits as well. However , stay tuned because along side the POCKET ROCKET in my garage stands the 10'3 which is ready for the bigger days & these boards have briefly been introduced to the 7'4 POD & THE INCREDIBLE which will expand my QUIVER for sure.

SUP has given you the chance to travel the world. Out of all travels, which one has been the most memorable?
A trip in 2009 with the Doctor Mr Svein Rasmussen his family & the STARBOARD crew to a remote destination known only as SHANG RI LA!

Who do you respect in SUP?
Scotty is most certainly my guru in his ability to sense the tuning needed to make board design work. Jake Patterson who patiently took me out on those first all important lessons . Ekolu Kalama for showing me early in the game how to charge on a SUP. THE DOCTOR ..Mr Svein for his never ending enthusiasm to ensure the users are always given the opportunity to be riding the best available.

What are your 5 most played songs on your IPod?
BLUE SASHES by the SCREAMING JETS when Im getting pumped for a solid morning session. MAMMA MIA by ABBA when its tiny & time to just style out on the 12 footer.. BACK IN BLACK by AC/DC when its 5-6foot & the POD is ready to fire out of the pocket.. CHRIS ROCK for his classic comedy skits.. A random mix of orchestra music to chill out on my roof top gazebo with cold bintang in hand & a few mates around to watch the sunset

What inspires you?
Honesty, calmness & loyalty.

What's your biggest accomplishment in 2009?
pushing the SHORT SUP EVOLUTION with STARBOARD & seeing the POD become reality . standing on THE INCREDIBLE at 7pm in the evening after it had just been glassed much to the amazement of THE DOCTOR.. haha

What are your goals for 2010?
review what was achieved in 2009, refine with knowledge what is already available & push what was believed to be the end a little further .. introduce SUP to as many people as possible in a positive & responsible manner .
